Happy Halloween!

Our Dragon made it home in time to go out and trick or treat! She had a great time! Happy Halloween!

Was that a bead.....or a bean?

Well today was an off the wall kind of day. I was out on my lunch hour when it all happened. I had 10 mins left of my lunch time & was headed back to work, when Megan's school called my cell phone.....my heart stop for minute....I hadn't received a call from school before.....as I answer I feel panic.....the lady on the other end said Mrs Young you're going to need to pick Megan up, she is okay but she has a bead/bean stuck in her "EAR". Oh my goodness was all I could mutter, I will be right there. So off I went to the school.....I picked her up, she was in fine spirits. I told her sticking things in your ear could make you deaf and explained that you couldn't hear laughing or dogs barking and it didn't seem to faze her. So I put it into her terms....I said it would be like watching TV with the sound off & she said to me at least I could see it....I didn't know what to say but, "okay then one night you will watch a show without the sound so you will understand what not hearing means" she said "okaY"......after that we met up with Ken. We went to the walk-in & they said they probably couldn't help her and that we needed to go to the hospital.....Ken went with Megan and I went back to work. She was in good hands.....we kept texting back & forth. At 4:50 pm I left work and went to the hospital and she hadn't been seen yet. I sat with them for a bit and explained to Megan that she's going to miss out on Halloween this year....she was devestated....she kept saying & crying I shouldn't have put that bean in my ear now I'm gonna miss out on treats and seeing everyones costumes.....the lady across from us had tears rolling down her face, she felt so bad for her......The nurse weighed her and Megan told her with a sad voice I'm missing Halloween, the nurse asked us if she was missing Halloween and we said yes since we are in here.....Ken then left as I (Mom) came on duty! Not 1 min after Ken left the Dr saw her....he said it is really jammed in there I don't know how we're going to get it out......he asked Megan why she had done this and she just said, "I felt like it!"....well he got tweezers which he didn't think would work but it did and out came a........half of a split pea! Can you believe it? I kept it for the story for years to come!

Happy Birthday Ken!

Another year older today! He hasn't changed much......he doesn't have the messy hair, he doesn't have that long brown hair, thank goodness he doesn't have that red shirt....but boy he still is cute! I sure do love him! Happy Birthday Ken!

A Fun Night Out!

Tonight we visited Auntie Pennie, we had a wonderful dinner with her and a great visit. Auntie Pennie has a lot of instruments that Megan was really interested in. She pulled them all out and we all had to take one and we would play songs.......it was quite funny. We played some cards "Go Fish!" It was fun night!

Annual Downey's Outing!

Today we went to our annual outing to "Downey's Farm" it was quite cold, and it rained of coarse like it has every year since she was born....Megan said it was so fun there. We picked out a big pumpkin and Megan already has the idea of how we are going to carve it next weekend.....keep posted to find out how it turns out

Megan loves to help out doing things,,,,she made chocolate pudding today (if you couldn't tell by her face).....but the nice thing about it she actual likes to help clean up after as well....how long will this last?

Thanksgiving Day! We know who we're very thankful for.....our little girl!

Thanksgiving and Megan!

Tonight we were eating dinner (leftovers) for thanksgiving dinner just the 3 of us, and we talking about being thankful and what for....Megan said, "I'm not as thankful for this meal as I was yesterday".....I guess she's not to keen on leftovers! Out of the mouth of babes!

Tonight we had the Semkowski's over for dinner! We ate and talked and watched a video we had taped last year from Thanksgiving.....we couldn't get over how the kids have grown up in a year. We're thankful for our friends!

Happy 2nd Birthday Ayslyn!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Ayslyn! Today we went to Springridge Farm where we celebrated Asylyns 2nd birthday! It was a beautiful day and the kids realy enjoyed themselves. They made baskets, picked eggs from the chicken stall, played on the hay, in the corn maze, had pizza and cupcakes.

Thanksgiving with Family

We had dinner at The Laybolt's tonight....what an excellent time we had. Megan has so much fun with all the kids around...and so do we, we get to relax and enjoy!

Apple Picking

Megan went on her Apple Orchard Trip with SK today. She had a lot of fun. She came home with apples that she picked right off the tree herself....her teacher said it was a great day!

Tonight our friends Jenn, Sean and Ashleigh came down and we went out for dinner for my birthday! It was a great night as always!
