The Last Day!
Can you believe that it is the last day of January.....this month flew right by I almost missed it.....it's the warmest January on record, I can believe that, I don't remember a January like it......that means technically spring is only 48 days away.....but we'll have to see what the Ground Hog reports on Thursday, but whatever he says it really doesn't matter after a wonderful month we've had.

What to do on a Rainy Afternoon.....
this afternoon we dedcided it was a good time to take in a movie, so we went to the 4 pm show to see Nanny McPhee here. It was a great show....Megan really enjoyed it and so did Ken and I.....it was a good movie to teacher children lessons of what naughty behaviour can do to people and what things children can do to better situations themselves.....I will buy it when it comes to DVD that is for sure.
A Day at the Bridal Show
This morning I met my friend Heather at the Mississauga Convention Centre for the annual Bridal Show........as mentioned in a post in December she is getting married & is planning her wedding so we went to the show, it was small but intimate, rather then the big shows they have in Toronto.......it was quite funny at one of the booths was a store called Sara's Bridal Fashions where I bought my wedding dress just over 10 years ago, & you believe it the lady said you look really familiar, how nice is that someone remembers after that length of time.......we watched the fashion show which was good & got goosebumps from one the dresses that came out (is it a sign???) .....then we enjoyed each others company at lunch which we rarely get to do....it was a nice time spent together.

Weather Changes......
I'm all confused.....I know it doesn't take much....LOL....however this weather has been unbelievable for January. My body keeps getting tricked that spring is here...then boom before you know it there's a biting freeze again........we walked to the library tonight to sign Megan up for soccer and boy was it cold.....then I realized why I don't like winter and why I hibernate.

Congratulations Simon & Nicki!
My cousin had his first child, a daughter on January 20 2006..............weighing in at 8lbs 15 ozs.........her name is Maisie....Congratulations Simon and Nicky!
Megan & Voting
Last night we went to vote and Megan wanted to know and understand just what it was we were voting for, after a long talk she understood to my surprise.....when we were at the polling station she stood in line saying "okay, you know who your voting for right?"...what a kid! She wanted to come around the back to fill it out and drop it in the box but she isn't allowed, then I went and sat with her until Ken had put his vote in, well she then thought it was her turn.....LOL....then I had to explain the you must be 18 to vote that was the law....so she sat and cried for a bit......guess she wants her in on politics.

An Evening at the MacKenzies New Home
Megan with her Aunt Daniela and Uncle Kevin....we had an awesome time at our first visit tho their new home..finally. We had a wonderful supper, played 90's Trivia Pursuit.....they won.....it was a great night! Thanks a bunch guys!

Look At These Dresses!
Oh My....Well after going through the boxes in the basement we pulled out my grade 8 grad dress (on top), and my high school grade dress (on bottom)....we thought it would be funny for Meg to put them on before I got rid of them....Megan didn't think they were very pretty....I did at one time! :)
Why Spend So Much on Toys?
We were in the basement tonight sorting through a bunch of boxes, and Megan wanted a box to play with, so Ken found her one....things were a little quiet in the other side of the basement so we went to check on her and there she was sitting with her stuffed animal in a "Pampers" box....couldn't resist this picture!
Hope It's A One Off
This morning was crazy....Ken gets Megan up in the morning & gets her breakfast, I then get her lunch, get her dressed & prepare her backpack...coats on & off we go....Well this morning Megan wanted to colour pictures for the teacher at 6:50 am...we didn't have time she had a fit, which set me in a miserable mood....then she had to get her show'n'share, her toys are everywhere & the thing she wanted she couldn't find all the pieces so she had a fit....I then went & looked for a doll for her to take as she said the teacher would be upset if she didn't bring something....I was upstairs & said that we were going to be late & she said it was my fault.....I think wow this is how she is at 5 what am I in for when she's 15? I usually would put her in a time out (which works wonders) but when you are needing to get out the door to catch the bus & get to work time outs don't work so well....she's got a cold & has had it all week so this could be making her cranky but she needs to know not to deal with things this way. These's fits that she's having are only recent for things that don't go her way, any suggestions?

Just thinking Out Loud
Well a few days have passed since I last blogged and nothing much is happening here, and in my life that is amazing......but for some strange reason I need things to do. Megan keeps me busy don't kid yourself.......I don't have any hobbies which doesn't help......most of the time I want to be working, but when I'm there it's the last thing I want......is it the January blahs........I think I'm starting to look at life a little different again as I do.....what ever happened to just relaxing......I think I follow after my parents always needing something to do, must be in the genes.........sorry about that I'm just thinking out loud!

Building Memories!
Over the past year Ken has been putting up studs, wiring, drywalling, taping, sanding, and painting the basement......tonight we started to put the bar together.....we are making an English Style Pub. My Dad and Mom had a Pub in their basement in their first home which I helped build with my Dad, we had many happy times in that basement and one day soon I'll have to pull out some pictures of that basement to show you.....but on with our building to put all of my Dad and Moms things in this Pub, as well as some new things......we'll keep you updated with pictures with the progress.
What Have I Started?
A while ago Megan started answering the phone when it rang, we taught her how to answer it, what to press to turn it off. So then we thought it would be good to put my cell phone number and Ken's cell phone number on the side of the fridge just in case she needs to call Ken or I, I told her she can call us anytime. So tonight she called me on my way home to tell on herself that she was a naughty girl, anyway we talked about it and then I said we'll finish this when I get home, she said okay....bye Mom. Anyway if you don't know I'm addicted to the phone (my father always said I need it surgically removed from my ear and he was right), and I guess that is what I'm starting with Megan. The first called she made was a few weeks ago asking for me to stop at McDonalds to pick her some dinner up since she had spagetti at daycare for lunch and didn't want that again.........oh boy are we in trouble.....he he!

Game Night
Tonight was family game night....we played Clue Jr...it was great. I remember when I was younger having Clue and playing it and loved it....well I loved this one 2 I won twice and Megan wasn't too happy....she'd never played it before so she'll get the hang of it eventually.
